Soggy Noodles.

We have the kind of luck you’d only see in cheesy movies. No really, I know what you’re all thinking – but our family’s lucky streak is non existent. So as it happens 24 hours after leaving we get struck with thunderstorms, high winds, rain and possible hail. We decided to get a little cottage for a few nights to dry out and escape the non-camping friendly weather.

It’s 530am and were packing wet camping gear into wet bags and putting it on a wet car and Jon (bless his heart) says ‘I’ll drive to Simmos!’. So the first time driving on a freeway – let alone a road with other cars – we slapped on the L-plates, some courage, and our seat belts and took on the world! Well we took on the Coalfields Highway.😳 Jon drove all the way to Bunbury before coming up to a roundabout where we swapped over. He did so so well driving, and even though we were both nervous and I probably aged about 10 years in that 1 hour of driving. Until next time L-plates!

We stopped at Simmos (because it’s probably illegal not to) and played mini golf by ourselves and had ice cream after. Why, you might be asking? Aside from the fact that it was only 9°C it was also raining and windy. So of course we had Simmos to ourselves. No one else is quite as rediculous as we are at the moment. Again we forgot to take pictures but Jon had Jaffa and Orange Chocolate and I had Chocolate sorbet and Cherry Swirl. Just to make you jealous it was delicious!

We’ve settled in in at Margaret River, had Squid Lips for dinner (You don’t have to tell me I realise I forgot to take pictures of that too😣) put the heater on and slept like babies while the storm bucketted down around us.

We’ve got plans for the farmers market and some serious napping tomorrow!

Take care noodle-heads!
